My professional practice (bonus track)
Hi classmates, this night I want to explain you about my professional practice (and thesis project idea).
Actually, I'm working in a archeological project that is developing in the north of Chile. Specifically, in a site located in the north area of "Pampa of Tamarugal". For this, a team has been formed with the idea of research what happened in this place, who lived here and what happened with this people.
At the end of the first stage of field work, the archeologist in charge offered me the opportunity to propose him a topic to investigate, useful for the project and something of his interest that may related with geography.
One day, I found out about diatoms, microalgae that grow up in wet areas like lakes, rivers, between the bricks of a house, in any place that humidity exists. In my case, the study area is located in mid of desert. But, in the past this place also had a ecosystem, that human and the increase of temperature are responsible for its extinction. In any case, nature leaves microscopical traces in the sand and this is evidence of a lot of processes. My diatoms are in fossil form, fossil that consist in a paleoindicator of climate and enviromental conditions of past in a specific place.
Study these kind of life has been a challenge for me, not only in the biological part of this, also in bureaucratic world of academy (like Chile, obviously). Especially, for biologists that don't want to lend his lab for study my examples or a lot authorizations to enter to one of university lab, that only allows biology or chemical students. However, faced with this problem, I have decided to save money for buy a microscope. At the end, you have to make your way yourself.
I write this post for explain you a little of the great "horn" that I'm in, but happy for my microscope <3
Thank's for read. me.
Here, some examples of fossil diatoms that I found in my floor samples.
This are microalgaes that lived in desert areas. Maybe, a thousand years ago.
Probably more.

Your work sound very interesting, almost gives me envy jajajaj
ResponderBorrarGood attempt at ellaborating an explanation to your work. Again, some misplaced lexical items cause instances of incoherence that might reflect a sort of proofreading lack.
